Meet our Board of Directors, the group who leads the way for Cornerstone Bank.

William B. Pendleton serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is founder and President and CEO of Primary Capital, a large residential and commercial mortgage banking company, which originates over $2 billion in mortgages annually. Formerly, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of HomeBanc Federal Savings Bank, prior to its acquisition by SouthTrust Bank in 1994.

Chris H. Burnett is the Chief Executive Officer of Cornerstone Bank. Formerly the President and CEO of Horizon Bank, he has over 25 years of banking experience in leadership positions. He also led Eastside Bank, a two branch community bank in Gwinnett County, through its acquisitions first by Main Street Bank, then later by Branch Bank & Trust (BB&T).

 


Frederick D. Clemente serves as Lead Director of the Board and Chairman of both the Audit Committee and the Regulatory Compliance Committee of the Bank. Mr. Clemente is Managing Partner of Atlanta Capital Holdings, LLC and was formerly Managing Principal of BainbridgeZKS Real Estate Fund, a private equity fund headquartered in La Jolla, California and previously President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Park Holdings, Inc., which included Park 'N Fly, an off-airport parking company. His prior positions included Vice Chairman of HomeBanc Federal Savings Bank and International Controller for Mellon Bank.

Daniel M. DuPree is Chief Executive Officer of Reynolds Capital Group. Formerly, he was Vice Chairman of Cousins Properties, rejoining in 2003 after retiring as President and Chief Operating Officer in 2001. Mr. Dupree formed New Market Development Company where he served as CEO, later selling the company to Cousins.

James Don Edwards, Director Emeritus, is the J. M. Tull Professor Emeritus at the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. He was formerly Interim Dean of the Terry College of Business. Dr. Edwards serves on the board of the East Lake Foundation and was a member of the Board of Directors of HomeBanc Federal Savings Bank and Georgia National Bank in Athens, Georgia.

 

Hans A. Kempers serves as non-executive Chairman of NORO Management, Inc; the management company for the Dutch BORON Group’s commercial real estate portfolio. He was formerly President of AHOLD Real Estate, the US real estate subsidiary of Royal Ahold, a Dutch supermarket company with $15 Billion in sales in the USA. In addition, he served as a Director of HomeBanc Federal Savings and Loan. He has a degree in Economics of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and has managed all types of real estate in Europe as well the USA.

Albert D. Maslia is the Managing Director of Retail Services with the AmericasMart and an instructor in the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He founded Social Expressions, a retail greeting card chain of stores, and later sold the 14-store chain to American Greetings, Inc. Mr. Maslia was Senior Vice President of Merchandising at Rich’s for 25 years.
Gary R. Page owns a private finance company known as Small Dealers Assistance, Inc. (SDA). He is also active as both a developer and financier in the commercial real estate market. Mr. Page is on the Board of Trustees for Ripon College, serving on the finance and admission committee.
J. Clayton Snellings is a Partner of Snellings Walters Insurance Agency. He recently served as President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia. Mr. Snellings was also President for two terms for Kiwanis International – Member Galleria/MW Atlanta.

Robert F. Tomain is a Director of Primary Capital Advisors in Atlanta and serves as past Chairman of Cornerstone Bank and Cornerstone Bancshares. He was formerly the President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of HomeBanc Federal Savings Bank.
